Caring for your mattress

Upon delivery of your mattress please unpack it carefully without using a knife or scissors, dispose of the plastic bag as soon as possible to keep it away from children.

Newly unwrapped mattress will have a unique smell. Please allow 2 weeks for this smell to disappear. The odour is not toxic and is presented in all products where new foam/latex is used.

Always carry your mattress on its side. Don’t use the mattress handles for lifting or pulling the full weight of the mattress once it is properly in place.

Don’t bend, fold, stand or jump on product. Gently flex mattress no more than 30 degrees when going through narrow path.

We recommend using a proper frame. Use a bed frame that supports head, foot and sides with rigid centre support. For any frame that does not have a metal centre support, there must be at least 5 hardwood slats (1″ X 4″ slats). Failure to provide proper support can damage the mattress or foundation and invalidate the warranty.

We recommend using a quilted mattress pad on the mattress at all times to avoid stains. Soiling will negate the warranty. We also recommend professional cleaning of your mattress every 6 months. Regular cleaning can help with the reduction and control of dust mites thus reducing the risk of allergies and hay fever. Most professional carpet cleaners provide this service.

Please rotate your mattress occasionally from head to foot and turn over in two sided mattress. This will help equalize compression of the upholstery.

Leather Care and Warranty:

Leather is one of the most beautiful and practical coverings for upholstered furniture. It’s a durable product that will provide long lasting comfort, however some very important care tips must be followed to prolong its life.

Important Things to Avoid

  • If you are removing any protective wrapping do not use any sharp tools which could damage the leather or the upholstered covering.
  • If you move your lounge do not lift or drag it by the cushions which are sewn into the frame, the correct way to move it is by lifting the sofa, at each end, from the base.
  • Do not expose any part of the lounge to direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct or intense sunlight may cause the leather to fade as well as excessive drying and cracking.
  • Please do not sit on the armrests and backrests. They are not designed for seating and could potentially damage the frame.
  • Ensure that every edge or part of the lounge is placed at least 50cm away from any heat source, including electric or gas heaters.
  • Never use solvents, abrasives, shoe or saddler care products, only ever use industry-recommended leather care products suitable for the type of leather.
  • You may notice slight compression on the padding of your lounge after the delivery, thereafter it is necessary to model your lounge to ensure the padding and cushions return to their original appearance.
  • Softening or padding of cushions will occur over time. This will cause light creasing, wrinkling and slight stretching of the leather which is considered to be normal wear.
  • Softening of seat cushions over time is completely normal and is not considered a defect in any way. Sitting on a particular most of the time will cause that seat to soften more than the others.
  • Don’t stand or use excessive force on the adjustable arm or back and also don’t sit on the arm either in its adjusted or original position.
